These services can be used by all customers. The Regular Taxi Service with red roofs and commercial advertisements on the doors and back and easily recognizable and available in all locations across Dubai. This excellent service is available to travel to other Emirates as well and is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Customers can access this service through Street Hailing (taxis will only stop in safe areas) and through partner applications like S’hail and Careem.

  • The customer logs in to the app using his username and password.
  • The customer selects Booking a Taxi Vehicle service.
  • The customer enters the required details (his current location and the location he wants to reach).
  • The taxi heads to the customer’s location.

Street Hail

  • The customer waits on the road until a taxi passes (taxis will only stop in safe areas).

Exclusive Location

  • The customer heads to the exclusive location where DTC Commission Taxis are parked in front of the exit door at the exclusive location.
  • The customer takes the taxi.

Validity

From the time of requesting the service until the end of the journey and payment for service.

Terms and Conditions

  • The customer is not allowed to eat or drink in the vehicle.
  • The customer is not allowed to smoke in the vehicle.
  • The customer is not allowed to have a pet inside the vehicle.
  • The customer is responsible for his personal belongings. The service provider is not responsible for their loss or damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the acceptable payment methods for Transport Using Taxi Vehicles service?

The customer can pay in Cash, Credit Cards, NOL card, Careem Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Alipay, or QR Code payment.

Can 2 customers with 2 different drop-off destinations or locations share the same taxi?

If the 2 customers are friends or family, they can use the vehicle for more than one location, with one fare.

Are multiple pickups and drop-offs allowed?

The passenger has the right to take whoever he wants during the trip and from the place he desires, with one fare, and it is prohibited to restart the counter.

Do taxi drivers accept coupons/company vouchers?

The customer can pay through coupons if they’re issued from Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC). If the taxi fees are higher than the amount of the coupon, the customer can settle the difference in cash, but on the condition that a taxi vehicle belonging to the DTC.

How can I make a complaint and suggestion?

You can always call 8009090 or email customers.happiness@dtc.gov.ae where an RTA customer service agent would happily register your complaint. If your case is related to DTC App Services, you may open a ticket through the DTC App itself.

What happens after I submit my complaint?

Your complaint would be sent to an officer who would investigate and acknowledge within 24 hours. You may be contacted during the investigation process to learn more about the issue, if necessary.

What information do I need prior to reporting an issue?

The best way to ensure proper reporting is to keep your trip’s receipt since it will have all the basic required information, which your customer services representative will need to log during the call. This basic information includes Trip Date, Pick-Up Location & Time, Drop-Off Location & Time, Vehicle Side/Plate Number, Total Fare Paid as per the Meter and or driver details.

You may call RTA Call Center 8009090 or send an email to ask@rta.ae in case the item is lost in a taxi / limousine. DTC App customers may report through the respective App itself.
