Dubai Taxi honors strategic partners, suppliers and sponsors

The Dubai Taxi Company (DTC), at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has held its annual gathering with strategic partners, suppliers and sponsors including representatives of public and private entities. The event, which was held in Intercontinental Dubai Festival City Hotel, was aimed to show appreciation of the effective efforts of all partners in bringing success to the DTC.

RTA starts trial run of the region’s first hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicle in Dubai Taxi fleet

HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has launched the trial run of the first electric hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicle, Toyota Mirai, as part of the Dubai Taxi Fleet, in collaboration with Al Futtaim Motors. The hydrogen fuel cell vehicle has zero emissions, only water emissions. It is noiseless and can travel 500 km on a full tank, and refilling it takes not more than five minutes.

Dubai Taxi launches Digital Hackathon for University Students

The selected students will participate in programmers’competition to take advantage of their creative initiatives, programs, and ideaswith the aim of enhancing the intelligent transport system.

RTA awards contract for procuring 554 hybrid taxis

The Board of Executive Directors of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), chaired by HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of The Board of Executive Directors of RTA has endorsed a contract for procuring 554 environment-friendly hybrid vehicles. These vehicles, which are fitted with a combination of fuel engine and electric motors, currently constitute about 11% of the fleet of the Dubai Taxi Company (DTC). The move is part of a masterplan to curb the pollution from vehicle exhausts and make vehicles friendly to the environment of Dubai. By the end of this year, the DTC targets to beef-up the proportion of hybrid vehicles to 17% of its taxi fleet, which currently comprises 503 vehicles.

Dubai Taxi organizes Umrah trips for cabbies in Ramadan

Dubai Taxi inks agreement to operate limo for All Habtoor hotels

The Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has endorsed a plan to transform taxis in Dubai (Dubai Taxi and franchise company taxis) into 100% environmentally friendly (hybrid, electric and hydrogen-powered) by 2027. The move meets the requirements of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, the Green Economy drive, and the Dubai Government's strategic directions toward comprehensive environmental sustainability.
